The publication of the 2022 Census results startet on 25 June 2024 with a press conference of the statistical offices of the Federation and the Länder, which was represented by the Federal Statistical Office and the Land statistical offices of Nordrhein-Westfalen (IT.NRW) and Bayern.

The census outputs will be released in a phased approach from 25 June 2024 onwards. At the start of the release phase, the statistical offices of the Federation and the Länder will provide the results for the press conference on the Census website.

The 2022 Census determined how many people lived in Germany on reference date 15 May 2022 and collected information on how they lived and worked. The results include population figures and information on the population structure of the Federation, Länder and municipalities, education and employment. In addition, the 2022 Census provides data on buildings and dwellings in Germany, for example the size of dwellings, net rent exclusive of heating expenses, energy sources for heating, and dwelling vacancies. The 2022 Census also supplies information on households and families and their housing circumstances.
